Time Management

That clock can be a real bear. It’s not even a cute bear like these ones:

Nay, moms are ruled by arbitrary time constraints completely decided by diaper changes, hungry little tummies, hungry large tummies, and the necessities of sleeping.

I use to be pretty bad at time management as a new mom. I’d wake up early to send Mike Honcho off to work, then because the baby was still asleep (how, I do not know, in that creaky old fifth wheel), I would go back to bed. It probably comes as no surprise to you that I was then usually several hours behind all day long.

Well more than ten years in and I think I may have hit upon a mostly fool-proof way of managing your time wisely no matter what your demands may be.

It’s pretty simple. All you have to do is get up and get going.

I’ll never forget Bethenny Frankel being asked how she got to be so successful. She didn’t even pause. She answered that when everyone else was still sleeping, she was up and making things happen.

Some mornings it’s hard, but it sure feels good at night, knowing I made the day absolutely count.
