Revisiting the New Year

“The only way to keep your health is to eat what you don’t want, drink what you don’t like, and do what you’d rather not.” – Mark Twain

How are all your New Years resolutions going?

No, really. How are you doing? We are now long past that 30 day mark that most of the super smart people say is the amount of time it takes to form a new habit. Did you make any resolutions that were worth sticking too?

Here’s a post I wrote last year about resolutions if you want to take a gander:

Resolution

In my older age, I find myself waking up every morning and going to bed every night with intent. In the morning, it is the intent to make the day count, to not be wasted. At night, it is the intent to be better the next day. There is always something to improve upon. Heavy, right?

I feel like time is flying by, in a very out-of-control roller coaster way. It is a quickening of times that makes me feel a little desperate. There is so much I need to teach my kids. There is so much I want to do with my kids. There is so much I want to experience with my husband.

The extreme simplification in living that we underwent this last year has helped so much in allowing me time to focus on the important things and personal traits I want to continue to develop.

Happy New Year! Keep at it!

This may sound weird, but for the first time in my life, I am restricting my calories in order to lose weight. In the past, I just ran a little bit more if my weight began creeping up, and it went back down to its equilibrium point. I am doing OK with it, results-wise, but I don’t like it.

Living an intentional life is the best thing you can do. After a visit with my son and DIL in Oregon last summer, I was so impressed with the intentional way they lived their lives, I had to make some changes in my own. Love it when I can learn from my kids! 🙂

I think it’s amazing that you are able to
run the way you do! Good luck in your continued efforts.
It is so great to be able to learn and evolve throughout our lives. The only problems come when we refuse to continue learning and changing!
